EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT EARTHPLUG:
HOW DOES EARTHPLUG WORK?
EarthPlug essentially consists of three coordinated components: a high-quality photovoltaic module, a scalable power storage unit and a special charger with an integrated power converter. The photovoltaic module is installed close to the control / storage unit - e.g. on an existing carport or on a support structure adapted to the local conditions, which can also be used as a roof if necessary. Even normal daylight is enough to charge the power storage in EarthPlug. When an electrical device is to be operated, EarthPlug supplies the required power from the storage.
WHICH DEVICES CAN BE OPERATED WITH EARTHPLUG?
EarthPlug delivers the same amperage as a household socket - 230V AC. Devices with a power consumption of up to 3000 watts can be operated. The larger the power storage, the longer the device can be operated. Almost all components can be adjusted: the charging current is controlled by the number of photovoltaic modules, the duration of the power output by the size and number of batteries. At best, the components are selected in such a way that the electricity that is recharged via the photovoltaics is higher than the amount drawn from the storage.
BUT WHAT IF THE SUN ISN'T SHINING?
EarthPlug has the memory for that. From this memory, an electrical device can be operated over a longer period of time - even if the sun does not shine for several days. In addition, “normal” daylight is enough to fill the storage tank - even if this takes longer than in sunshine. The power storage is available in different expansion stages - the larger the storage, the longer a device can be operated from the storage.
... AND E.G. IN WINTER, WHERE IT SOMETIMES REMAINS DARK FOR DAYS?
The winter time can certainly be a hardship for EarthPlug. Electricity storage systems lose their capacity significantly when it is cold. If persistent darkness then ensures that the memory is not recharged, this could lead to failure of the device to be operated. We counteract this with various measures: 1. EarthPlug has its own heating system, which ensures that the electricity storage system does not get too cold and that it can perform at its full capacity. 2. EarthPlug has a discharge protection that prevents the memory from being damaged if the machine is used until the machine comes to a standstill. 3. EarthPlug has an external 230V power connection. With this additional connection, the machine can be operated in an emergency and the memory can also be charged. If there is a socket near the machine, this could be done via an extension cable or, if necessary, with an alternative power source, such as an emergency power generator.
CAN EARTHPLUG BE USED WITH ALL ELECTRICAL DEVICES?
Actually already. The decisive factor is always the power consumption of the device to be operated. It must be less than 3000 watts and the photovoltaic / storage combination should be designed so that the device can be operated without interruption.
